The Level 2 Award in Food Safety Course is designed to incorporate the fundamental food hygiene knowledge required by all food handlers within Catering or Manufacturing.
The programme covers a defined syllabus and is assessed by a short objective test consisting of 30 multi-choice questions. The course available the catering, manufacturing and retail sectors include the following elements of study:
Where the course is delivered as "an evening course" the course will be over two days starting at 18.00hrs and finishing at about 21.00hrs on both evenings.
Employees, who work in a situation where food is prepared, cooked and served.
To provide attendees with information on Food safety issues which they will encounter during their working day.
45 Minutes – 20 Multiple Choice Examination – 12 correct = Pass
On successful completion of the course and final written assessments, the candidate will receive a certificate from the awarding body. This is valid for 3 years.
Candidates may choose to proceed to the next qualification, which is the Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety.
