Food Safety Training
This course is sector specific (Manufacturing, Catering, Retail)
Candidates can select the assessment and course book appropriate to their environment. Typically the ‘catering’ course is delivered but is easily adapted to suit a mixed target audience.

- Level 1 Award in Induction into Food Safety for Manufacturing
- Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness for Retail
Target Audience
The new Level 1 awards in food safety are run as half-day courses, suitable for a variety of candidates, including new employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge, employees handling low-risk or wrapped food or those who work front of house, such as waiting or check out staff, as well as back of house such as kitchen porters or warehouse staff.
Learning Objectives / Course Outline
The training programme covers the following topics:
- Food Safety (food hygiene, hazards, responsibilities)
- Personal Hygiene
- Cleaning
- Contamination
Course Duration
Minimum 3 hours, half day course.
Assessments
30 Minutes – 15 Multiple Choice Examination – 9 correct = Pass
Certification
On successful completion of the assessment paper the candidate will be issued with a certificate from the awarding body.
