The Opportunity
Magna is seeking experienced and qualified Fire Risk Assessors to support our expanding client base across the UK.
This role is suitable only for candidates who are competent to undertake Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with PAS 79 and relevant UK legislation.
You will work with a variety of commercial and industrial clients, delivering professional Fire Risk Assessments and practical compliance guidance.
This role will begin as a freelance contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent position as our consultancy continues to grow nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with PAS 79 methodology
- Evaluate fire safety management systems and building risk profiles
- Produce clear, compliant Fire Risk Assessment reports with practical recommendations
- Assess a range of premises including:
- Offices, retail, and hospitality venues
- Food production and manufacturing sites
- Warehousing and logistics facilities
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to business owners and site management
- Travel to client locations across the UK
Essential Requirements
Applications without these will not be considered
- Proven experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with PAS 79
- Formal fire risk assessor training or recognised fire safety qualification
- Strong working knowledge of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Experience assessing commercial or industrial premises
- Ability to produce professional Fire Risk Assessment reports
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IFE, IFSM, IFPO, or IIRSM)
- Registration with a Fire Risk Assessor Competency Scheme
- Consultancy experience working with multiple client sites
- Experience across manufacturing, logistics, or food production environments
