Emergency First Aid at Work
The new Emergency First Aid at Work is run as a 1-day course.
This Course is designed for Employees who require a basic knowledge of First Aid at work while working in a low-risk environment. The tutor will continually assess candidates throughout the day.
Target Audience
Candidates are required to be physically fit and remain calm in an emergency.
Learning Objectives / Course Outline
- Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
- Choking
- Wounds and bleeding
- Shock
- Minor injuries
- Avoiding cross infection
- Recording incidents
Course Duration
1 day
Certification
Successful candidates will receive the EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK certificate valid for 3 years. Re-qualification is gained by attending a further one day Emergency First Aid at Work Course

Suggested Progression
It is strongly recommended that all First Aiders attend an annual skills update session (3 hours).
