Food Safety
This intermediate level course is designed for
anyone working at a supervisory level in food businesses.
Legislation places responsibilities on the food chain when labelling and identifying ingredients in food. This course is tailored towards any business in the food chain from manufacturing to storage, distribution and the catering service industry as well as schools.
A highly interactive course in which candidates are invited to participate in the identification of various foods within different scenarios.
Course covers Pre-packaged for Direct Sale requirements came into law during October 2021.
Target Audience
Owners and managers in small to medium sized organisations, depending on the type of food business, may also find that the intermediate course provides them with sufficient knowledge to carry out their responsibilities effectively. Attendees must have completed the Level 2 Award in Food Safety within the last three years.
Course Aims
Successful completion of the course and examination will enable candidates to:
- Carry out an active part in monitoring food hygiene standards
- Be involved in training activities, especially on the job training
- Be equipped to properly supervise food handlers on hygiene issues
- Be able to carry out food hygiene audits
- Encourage excellent standards of personal hygiene
- Be able to assist in hazard analysis programmes
- Help in the formulation and writing of hygiene policies, instructions etc

Certification
